Welcome to North Bristol RFC
Special Needs Section
North Bristol
RFC have, in association with WESPORT, run an annual Special Needs
tag rugby festival inaugurated in Oct 2005. This day has become
so succesful that South Gloucesteshire Union of Disability Sports
have requested that North Bristol run a regular Special Needs session.
Of course being an inclusive club North Bristol were bound to say
yes and have agreed to this request readily. North Bristol have
tasked John Wheeldon to head up this session and we are hoping to
grow each week. To back up John four North Bristol coaches have
attended a course to enable them to work with disabled players.
John is a parent volunteer at the club and is actively involved
in delivering Judo Sessions plus working in Special Schools as a
WESPORT Community Coach. John is CRB checked and is a qualified
RFU tag rugby coach, he can be contacted via john.wheeldon@blueyonder.co.uk
or 07795445914
Sessions will
be offered at the club on Sundays from 10:30 to 12:00.
Please bear
with us as this session is in it's infancy along with this page
on the website so as the group grows so will the information on
this page. We are happy to offer your child an opportunity to experience
rugby and naturally we will be looking for you to support and assist
in this session. We will require more coaches and as we are all
parents of children at the club we will be looking to reinforce
our coaching base from within. If you are interested in assisting
please don't hesitate to step forward and join in, naturally the
club will ensure that you attend official RFU coaching courses.
Come on down
and join in with the FUN at North Bristol, what else is there to
do on a Sunday morning outsid church.
